Where the wealthy in Ahmedabad live



Almost certainly an eclectic housing destination, Thaltej in Ahmedabad gives buyers the chance to own premium to luxury homes in the locality.


If you are interested to own property in Ahmedabad, then consider that the neighborhood of Thaltej offers 1650 square foot 3 BHK apartments in Ahmedabad for a little less than 1 crore. The locality is largely upmarket and carters to mostly customers who have a budget close to a crore or above.  At Thaltej you can own a 2900 square foot 4 bedroom flat for 1.7 crore. This locality is almost certainly an upmarket locality as nearly all the developments at Thaltej are priced at a crore or above.


An interesting price trend at Thaltej indicates that property price at the locality shot up 3 years ago by almost 300 rupees per square foot only to return back to their previous level of 4700. The increase in the price of property at the locality was gradual reaching its peak in December of 2014 and hence commencing its downward trajectory to where it is today.
A very desirable locality, Thaltej may be one of the most sought after localities to own your residence in Ahmedabad. It is located close to the commercial hub of Ahmedabad and may have some of the best apartments in Ahmedabad. Much of the property at Thaltej is older than 5 years indicating that Thaltej is a mature locality and a steady market for buyers and sellers.


For the buyer interested in new projects in Ahmedabad, Thaltej may offer some good upcoming developments, currently there are 4 to 5 new developments under construction at Thaltej.  Although Thaltej is a relatively older locality, there are still many new developments in the region, for someone seeking a house in a recently completed development they should know that there is no shortage of shortage of such developments which have been completed in the past 1 or 2 years.


Near Thaltej, lies the locality of Gurukul where many of the top builders in Ahmedabad have a foot hold. Once again largely a premium homebuyers market, there are a large proportion of 4 bedroom apartments in this part of Ahmedabad.


When looking for property in Ahmedabad at locations such as Thaltej and Gurukul, what becomes abundantly clear is that these are upmarket localities, however what is upmarket in the above mentioned localities may only be counted among the middle class at certain other locations. Most properties at the above location range between 1 crore to 2 crore with a few priced higher and very few priced lower.  Although these rates are expensive for Mumbai, they are not very expensive when it comes to localities such as Bandra where even the least expensive developments are priced well above 2 crores.


So what may be a luxury home in one city is not a luxury home in another city, this is not an uncommon lesson when dealing in real estate. However prices for real estate all across the country are likely to continue rising, especially in tier 2 cities. We may reach a point in the future where the real estate prices in tier 2 cities may more closely match those in the much larger metros.
